Welcome to the web site of Violinist//singer Lucy Skystone
Lucy Skystone is a Singer and violinist, Viola and octave viola player. An octave Viola has the same range as a cello, thus she can play and overdub in her own studio, every string instrument range of an orchestras except double bass. Lucy is not only used for solo remote sessions from her own studio, by many media (and other) music producers, she also was the drummer and founder member of the band Touch and Go (Oval Music) who had a hit called "would you?" that reached number three in the UK and European charts in the 90s, but she was Lewis Taylors drummer for 2 years when he was signed to Island Records. (Robbie Williams' track Love light is in fact a Lewis Taylor tune in case you wonder who he was). Lucy was trained as a classical Violinist from the young age of three years old and yet is a good general music producer and can improvise in many styles as well as being a traditionally trained player. As you can see below Lucy is to be heard on many BBC themes on solo and overdubbed violin Viola and octave viola. Many thanks to the producers who use Lucy Skystone and have given permission for these tracks to be put up on the site, in particular David Lowe and Will Slater. Lucy Skystone did all violin and viola string overdubs on BBC Sharks in 2015 and other things. The audio clips will be added to soon.
